NTPC Limited is a Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. It was formerly known as National Thermal Power Corporation Limited. The headquarters of the NTPC Limited is situated at New Delhi. It is the largest power generation company in the country. It was founded by the Government of India in the year 1975. It contributes 47% of the power needs in the country. It is one of the seven Maharatna companies.
