1. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation
Oil and
Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is headquartered in Dehradun, India. It
is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of the Government of India, under the
administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It is
India's largest oil and gas exploration and production company. About 69% of
India's crude oil and around 62% of its natural gas is produced by ONGC. It is
the second largest PSU in India and ranked 22nd among the world’s
Top 250 Global Energy Companies. ONGC was founded on 14 August 1956 by

2. Coal India limited
Coal India limited is the largest coal producing company in
the world. Coal India limited is head quartered at Kolkotta. It contributes
about 81% total coal requirement of the country. It is one of the seven Maharatna companies. 90% of the equity
shares of the company is owned by the Government of India and the remaining 10%
were owned by others. It is the fifth
valuable company in the Indian market. It is controlled by the Ministry of
Coal.
3. Central Electronics Limited (CEL)
Central Electronics Limited (CEL)
is Public sector Undertaking company
managed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. It was
established in June 1974 with an objective to commercially exploit the
indigenous technologies developed by National Laboratories and R&D
Institutions in the country. CEL has contributed a lot for the country’s
defense, photovoltaic power generation and Safety & Signaling equipments in
Indian Railways. Central Electronics Limited (CEL) manufacturing unit is
located in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh.
4. NHPC Limited
NHPC Limited was incorporated in the year 1975 by the Government of
India. NHPC formally known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation is a
Hydro Electric Power Generation Company. The Objective of NHPC is to plan,
promote and organize an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric
power in all aspects. At present, NHPC is a Mini Ratna Category-I Enterprise of the Govt. of India and one of
the top ten companies in the country in terms of investments.
5. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL)
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is an Indian
state-controlled oil and gas company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. BPCL
has been ranked 229th in the Fortune Global 500 rankings of the world's biggest
corporations for the year 2013. BPCL is engaged in exploration and refining
petroleum products and hydrocarbons. It has refinaries at Kochin, Mumbai, Bina
in Madhya Pradesh and Numaligarh in Assam.
6. Indian Oil Corporation Limited or IndianOil
Indian Oil Corporation Limited or IndianOil is headquartered at New Delhi, India. It is the
largest public corporation in India when ranked by revenue. 79% of the total
shares of Indian Oil is owned by the Government of India. It is one of the seven
Maharatna companies. The company is
controlled by the Government of India.
7. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited
The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited also
known as POWERGRID India is an
electrical utilities company. It is headquartered at Gurgaon. It is an
Indian state-owned. About 50% of the total power generated in India is
transmitted by Power Grid India. Its subsidiary company is Power System
Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO), a company for power management for
Power Grid and POWERTEL, a telecom business company.
8. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL is
an oil and natural gas company owned by the Government of India. It is
headquartered at Mumbai. It is one of the Navratna companies. Most of the
shares of HPCL is owed by the President of India. It is one of the Fortune
Global 500 companies. It has its refineries at Mumbai and Vishakhapatnam.
9. NTPC Limited
NTPC Limited is a Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the
Ministry of Power, Government of India. It was formerly known as National
Thermal Power Corporation Limited. The headquarters of the NTPC Limited is situated at New
Delhi. It is the largest power generation company in the country. It was
founded by the Government of India in the year 1975. It contributes 47% of the
power needs in the country. It is one of the seven Maharatna companies.
10. GAIL (India) Limited, Gas Authority of India Limited
GAIL (India) Limited, Gas Authority of India Limited, is a natural
gas processing and distribution company in India. It is the largest state-owned
company of its type in the country. It is headquartered in New Delhi. It is one
of the seven Maharatna companies.
GAIL has a 11000 km of trunk pipeline networks installed across the country.
The business segments of GAIL are Natural Gas, Liquid Hydrocarbon, Liquefied
petroleum gas Transmission, Petrochemical, City Gas Distribution, Exploration
and Production, GAILTEL and Power Generation.
11. Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC)
Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC) is a lignite mining
and power generating company owned by the Government of India. It has an
install generation capacity of 2740 Mega Watts. The largest open-pit lignite
mines in the country operated in NLC. It is one of the Navratna companies.
12. Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL)
Gujarat State Electricity
Corporation Limited is a subsidiary of the Gujarat
Electricity Board (GEB), which came into existence in August 1993. It is a
State Government power generation company in Gujarat. Currently it has 10 power
stations in the state under operation and is headquartered at Vadodara,
Gujarat.
13. Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL)
Mazagon Dock Limited is a manufacture of warships and submarines for Indian Navy. Its headquarters is at Mumbai. The company was founded in the 18th century and was undertaken by the government of India in 1960. Now it is one of the public sector undertakings. Apart from warships and submarines MDL manufactures offshore platforms, offshore drilling support vessels, tankers, cargo carriers, passenger ships and ferries.
14. National Fertilizers Limited (NFL)
National Fertilizers Limited is major producer of
industrial chemicals and organic and inorganic fertilizers in the country with
an annual turnover of over Rs. 7300 crores.
The company is headquartered at Noida. It is one of the Mini Ratna
companies in the country. It was incorporated in 1974 and is controlled by the
Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. The company has
its manufacturing units at Nangal ,Bathinda, Panipat, Vijaipur.
15. Bharat Broadband Nigam Limited
BBNL is a public sector undertaking established by the
Government of India for the Establishment, Management
and Operation of National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN). It
was started with an ambition to link all the grama panchayats in the country
with the internet. It has its head quarters at New Delhi and Project Management Units
at Delhi, Chandigarh,
Ambala, Karnal, Jammu, Jaipur, Kota, Lucknow, Aligarh,
Kanpur, Meerut, Saharanpur, Varanasi, Dehradun, Bhopal, Indore,Gwalior,
Jabalpur, Raipur , Durg, Pune, Mumbai,
Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Trivandrum,

16. THDC India Limited
THDC India Limited (formerly known as Tehri Hydro
Development Corporation Ltd.), is a Joint Venture of Govt. of India and Govt.
of Uttar Pradesh. The Corporation has grown into a multi-Project Organisation,
with Projects spread over various States as well as neighbouring Country,
Bhutan. Total installed capacity of THDCIL presently is 1,400 MW. THDCIL has
two generating stations namely Tehri Stage-I (4x250 MW) and Koteshwar HEP
(4x100 MW). Tehri Dam has been conferred the Prestigious award of
“International Milestone Project” of International Commission of Large Dam
(ICOLD)in Oct.’09 in China, considering the Uniqueness of its design and construction
features.
17. IRCON INTERNATIONAL LIMITED
