The selection process of HP is relatively simple. You can easily get through if you have basic problem solving, communication and programming skills.
Basically the selection process of HP consists of three
rounds.
Aptitude test
Group Discussion
HR interview.
Aptitude test.
In this round, your problem solving, linguistic and
technical skills are tested. Basically there will be more questions on
technical session than the former ones.
Pattern of aptitude test:
Number of questions:
55
Time : 75 minutes
There will be three sections:
Quantitative aptitude – 12 questions
Here you may get questions on arrangements, ratio and
proportion, percentage, time and work, number series, painted blocks, permutations
and combinations, trains etc. Of all these, the first three are the most
probably asked ones.
How to prepare for Quantitative aptitude?
To crack this sections Aptitude books by R A Agarwal is more
than enough.
English vocabulary – 8 questions
Here you can find questions from tenses. Questions to test
your vocabulary may also be found.
Technical section (C, C++, Java, DBMS) – 35 questions
This may be the toughest section for those who are weak on
the basics of C, C++, Java etc. Programs will be given and you will be asked to
write its output or find out the errors in it. C and C++ are more probably
asked. Questions from Java and DBMS are rarely found.
Group Discussion
The next round will be group discussion. This is to test
your communication skills. The topics will be very simple such as Global
warming.
HR Interview
Once you get into this round you need not worry because you
are almost placed. You may get simple questions like “introduce yourself”,
“What do you know about HP?”, “Are you will to work with us?”
